One thing I don't ever seem to be lacking is creative inspiration, I've been extremely fortunate to never have an "Artist Block" where I don't feel creative, in fact I have the complete opposite problem, too much creativity!! I have so many ideas I've sketched out to paint, and ideas for blogs and inspiration boards and product ideas with my art...the list goes on and on. My problem is the issue of time, I seem to be struggling with somehow finding the time to get much of anything work related done lately, which can be so frustrating when I have so many ideas bursting to get out! There are several culprits that will hopefully change within the next week and allow me the time to focus more energy and time into my art-my passion. First, I'm going to be moving!! And it's a big move in that the home needs to be totally renovated, it is cosmetically most people's nightmare, but luckily my husband is a former home builder, carpenter by trade, so this is right up his alley :) The first order of business will be to get the studio completed and ready for me to move in next week, along with a workable kitchen and bedroom; the rest of the house will be under renovation for quite some time. I'm Soooooo looking forward to the studio since it is twice the size of what I have now, it's going to be amazing to work in a bigger space that will be white from floor to ceiling with super bright lighting, eeeeeek, can't wait!! Just to give you a sneak peak into the scope of work involved in this new house here is the front which will be completely remodeled. New roof, new paint, stone veener, new landscaping and more, it will look sooooooo much better and updated! While my husband is busy remodeling I will be tucked away in my studio, painting, blogging, creating like a crazy woman, haha!! And I'm also thinking it would be so much fun to video document the remodel of this home, as one of my other love's is interior design, and incorporating my art into home decor, so stay tuned for a YouTube Channel with videos of the remodel; and I'm going to start videoing my paintings in progress as well! The other time suck in my life is mountain biking, which I LOVE, but it is so insanely time consuming :( The move, however is going to shorten the time involved with traveling to our favorite trails by hours each week, and the convenience of being so close will just make a huge difference. So, even though the move seems like it would be a time suck, in and of itself, the end result is going to give me much more time to focus on getting back to my creative self :) One of the things I've been wanting to do for a VERY long time, is create a coloring book. I grew up coloring in Dover Coloring Books for hours on end, day in and day out, during the dark winters of Alaska. It was always, and still is when I have the time, one of my favorite hobbies, so why not create some of my own for other's to color?! I've got a bunch of idea's circling around in my head with different themes, so to start it off how about a freebie page you can download and color right now!? This way you don't have to wait for the book to come out :) This birdhouse drawing is my way of showing appreciation to all of my collector's and followers, and allowing you to share in my love of coloring. You are welcome to use it for personal, non-commercial use...Enjoy!! If you do color I would LOVE to see what you do, feel free to share on the Facebook Page or Instagram use the hashtag: #madartcoloringpage
