One of the nice things about this color combination, and the items I selected to work together, is that it can be for either a man or a woman or both! It has a manly and feminine feel at the same time that will appeal to just about anyone. The items I chose are also a combination of high and low price points for a chic, contemporary styled bedroom to give an idea of what works well together. It's always fun to mix patterns and even throw in a little eclecticism such as the vintage styled clock, that creates personality and interest, along with the very trendy faux deer head. I hope you enjoy my latest finds for a contemporary "Teal" themed bedroom, and it inspires you to create a unique style for your own bedroom. Stay tuned for more Mood boards to Inspire Your Life! Teal goes with just about everything! And I am currently obsessed with this color in my paintings, whether it's the focal point or mixed in as a contrast color. My most recent painting that I completed today for my "Morning Art Challenge" is all about teal with some shades of golden yellow and aqua's and turquoise. I decided this would be the Perfect abstract, PoP Art painting to create a Mood Board around and chose to set up an entire bedroom with this theme. I love how well all of the items work together, so much, that I may have to consider this for my own bedroom once it's remodeled :) WHERE TO FIND THESE PRODUCTS:

I've always had a thing about hearts, I just love the way they can be created in so many different shapes and styles, but are always recognizable as a heart. You will see little hearts, big hearts, colorful hearts, every kind of heart imaginable in many of my paintings. But, one of my favorite ways of displaying a heart is to make it the focal point of a painting, which is exactly what I do in my very popular "PoP of Love"™ Collection. One of the first paintings I ever created in my Signature PoP Art style was "Heartfelt" and shortly after I listed it on art.com the set director from the TV show Grey's Anatomy approached me to use it on their show, well of course I said yes!! they ended up using it in their cardiac win unit set and several people I know who avidly watch the show saw it and recognized it as a MADART painting, so rewarding when that happens!! Here are two of the newest additions in the "PoP of Love"™ collection, the first one, "Heart Land"©, tells a story within the heart itself, leading us into a land of wonder and dreams to a beautiful far away land. The second one "Lift your Spirits"© is exactly that, a painting full of love and cheerful colors that actually reminds me of a candy store, and nothing like a yummy piece of candy to put a smile on anyone's face :) Keep an eye out for more "PoP of Love"™ paintings to come, these are the perfect paintings and prints to gift to yourself or someone you love.
I've always loved fashion, as far back as I can remember I loved looking through catalogs dreaming about wearing the outfits, particularly Spiegels...I think I just really aged myself, haha!! I even did a little modeling while in college, and still love to peruse fashion blogs and all the current fashion styles on Instagram. The problem is my work attire consists of paint splattered comfy clothes and doesn't allow for much fashionable options, haha! But, when I get my husband to take me to the movies or dinner I can dress up just a little bit and enjoy putting together some more classy outfits. Since I love fashion so much, I recently started a new collection of art called "PoP Art Couture"™ and have quite a few sketches and a couple full color designs. So, I decided for my "Morning Art Challenge" today to whip up a little piece of fashion with the always enviable "Birkin" Bag from luxury brand Hermes. Since I am not quite wealthy enough to purchase a real one, I figured next best thing is to paint one, and it had to be a bright PoP of pink of course, with some fun and funky elements! Here are some previous designs from the "PoP Art Couture" collection with more to come!
For the first time I will be offering Limited Edition prints that are VERY limited. There will only ever be 85 prints (and possibly Artist Proofs) of each image in this first Collector's Edition of 2015. The originals are also available, they are acrylic 18"x24" on gallery wrapped canvases, ready to hang. Here is the breakdown for the edition sizes and prices:
Don't miss out on this great opportunity, especially since I still have lower edition sizes at the lower costs still available!
We get so bogged down with social media, e-mails and every other distraction in the mornings, when we should start each day being creative. I've decided I'm going to try and make a habit of beginning my work day with drawing or painting, anything creative to get me inspired to create more artwork. I've noticed that when I go to my computer first thing in the morning I can literally spend hours doing mundane work, or wrapped up in Facebook, Pinterest, etc. when I should save that for later in the day after I've created some new art. I go to these sites with the goal of working and promoting my art, or researching marketing strategies, but inevitably end up getting sidetracked into reading or looking at things that really have nothing to do with my art or business. By the time I realize what is happening the creative spark is dimmed and I've wasted valuable painting time. No more!! It's time to break the cycle with a simple exercise of creativity first thing in the morning. Whether it's a drawing I can share as a coloring page, or a quick little painting, it's just so important to inspire myself first thing every morning. I hope this will also inspire all of you other creative person's to do the same. Let's start a movement to paint, draw, collage, whatever it is that you do for your art, let's do more of it! Share with me in the comments what you are doing, or going to do, to be more active in your craft each day. I will be sharing my "Morning Art Challenge" on this Blog and Instagram, so follow along with my journey and share with me and your audience your daily creativity with the hashtag #morningartchallenge. I look forward to seeing what every one is doing to inspire themselves and get the creativity flowing! I woke up this morning at 5:00 am, which is early for me as I don't usually get up until 6:30-7:00 but I had a sinus headache and had to get up. As I was sitting in my studio, in front of the computer, I realized what a great opportunity I was missing out on to paint. I instantly shuffled my seat from the desk to the painting table and started creating; the picture above was my inspiration for this post and morning creativity challenge, so I'm going to name it "Morning Journey".
I'm also going to be offering these little bits of inspiration for sale, at least the painted one's; watch the collection grow daily Here. I finished up this funky little painting yesterday evening and thought it would be fun to have my Instagram followers help me name it! Head on over to my Instagram account to put in your idea(s) for a title ~ Instagram: @madartstudios
I will choose the name I like best on Thursday and the winner will receive an 8"x10" signed print: can't wait to read everyone's ideas!! |
