Guest Blog Post by Aroon Melane "The Power of Color"

Aroon Melane is a fashion and lifestyle blogger, and model studying communications at the Nicholson School of Communciations at the University of Central Florida.  I love her interpretation on how color moves us, and her interpretation of that with my "Island Martini" painting.  I know on a personal level color definitely has a positive impact and I tend to use very bold, vivid colors in much of my art.  You can visit her blog at www.aroonmelane.com
As many of us know, color is a powerful element with the ability to change a persons mood instantaneously. Most professional artists are aware of the power a certain color can have and use that knowledge to their advantage when creating new pieces of art. Did you ever wonder why McDonalds decided to choose yellow and red as their colors? Or why Christian Louboutin has the well-known red soles? There is a lot more thought into choosing colors than most people might know.

Red
The signature red soles on every pair of Louboutin are not just by chance. Red is a color that expresses power, courage and passion as said by color specialist Leatrice Eiseman (link).
And when it comes to appetite, red wins over all. Red is proven to raise heart rates and blood pressure causing people to feel more hungry. It is no coincidence most fast food restaurants have the color red all over their restaurants.

Green
Green usually portrays envy and wealth, but it can also be used to represent nature and health. Green has been proven to increase positive emotions and has relaxing effects (link).

Blue
Blue is a color used to signify logic, trust and wisdom. This is perhaps why many political candidates wear blue shirts, ties and suits. Blue can make someone appear trustworthy and intelligent, while also producing a calming effect (link).

Yellow
Yellow is most commonly known to produce feelings of happiness, warmth and friendliness. Like red, yellow is an intense color that is also known to increase hunger according to Spoon University (link).

With so much power in every different color, it is no wonder why many people enjoy hanging bright artwork throughout their homes. Artwork can change the mood of a room and turn a once bleak space into something special.

"Imagine"...A New Mini PoP Inspirational Painting and Quotes

"Imagine"...a world where you can be whomever you want to be, do whatever you want to and live a life of dreams fulfilled. Well you can, right here, right now!

Have you ever dreamed of doing something that would fulfill your soul, but never had the courage to do it?  Well today is that day!  Imagine one of your deepest dreams and goals and get started on it here and now, don't wait for tomorrow, or a better opportunity, or for all the cards to lay out just right, start now.

We create our own destiny through the choices that we make, so why not create that destiny by first imagining what you want your life to be like, it all starts within our minds and the dreams and goals that we have, take action and you CAN have the life you've always wanted.  But, it starts with first imagining what it is you want and than setting out a plan to make it happen.  If you feel overwhelmed by some of your goals and dreams, start small with something more manageable and make it happen as quickly as possible, don't give up until your goal is realized, and then move onto a harder one and keep making your dreams come true, one after the other.  And create new dreams and goals as you achieve each one, you will live a life fulfilled knowing that you can achieve whatever you strive for, that your imagination can be a reality.
