"Life is a Balance"© - we have all struggled at one time or another balancing the demands put on us whether from family, work, friends...even ourselves. But we have to find a way to make it all work in order to be less stressed and find a peaceful balance. In most cases this means really taking the time to prioritize our life and focusing on what's most important.
Family and work are two things we really need to make priorities, but even with those we can work towards a healthy balance. With work whether self employed or not try to avoid "taking it home with you", be sure you make time for your family that doesn't involve work, maybe not take any work emails/phone calls after a certain time. If you have kids, make sure that they, and you, aren't overloaded with two many activities or events, limit weekly activities to one sport or after school activity. And make them be creative and figure out how to entertain themselves and give you some stress free time. You both will benefit! Little things like these may not seem like a big deal but can really make a difference in minimizing your stress and leading towards a more balanced life. Think of different ways you can find better balance and peace in your life.

As many of you know I am a HUGE fan of the remarkably ingenious Genie Canvas. It has revolutionized the way I, and so many other artists paint, it allows us to be able to create huge, oversized paintings and ship them for a fraction of what they would normally cost to ship, and since they ship rolled in a tube they are well protected. And not only are they shipped in a tube, but you have everything ready to mount the art and have it hanging on the wall within literally minutes...genius!! And they now come in an easy open tube! This is such a great improvement versus using tape and having to securely re-tape the lid. I love the fact that Genie Canvas is always coming up with ways to improve their product, to make it the most efficient and easiest large canvas for both artists and the art collectors. To learn more about Genie Canvas visit their site. Here is a quick little video demonstrating the new easy off lid, such a time saver and super easy to use. Now I can't wait to get started painting on the canvas itself!
