My newest PoP Art Collection is all about the empowerment of women, empowering each other to be strong and independent. I want to create an uplifting and empowering series of paintings and drawings to help promote the furthering of womens equality and love for themselves As a woman who has always been strong and independent it's been difficult coming up against men in every instance of my life who don't think I'm their equal. I've faced it during my college education, as a licensed residential contractor in the construction business and even as an artist. I've been made to feel as though my opinion is not as important as the mans next to me, or that my work isn't as important to my family as my husbands, the list goes on and on...but you know what? I have never let it hold me back, and I never will, and I want other women to know that they can stand up for their rights, they have the ability and power within themselves, it won't be easy, but the most important things in life usually aren't, but they ARE worth fighting for. Don't let men, and even other women demean you or put you down in any way, stand up for who you are and what you want in life. And it's not all about getting the best job as as man, or climbing the corporate ladder, it can just be about having the right to choose to stay home and raise your children, the most important job in the world. If that is what you want to do, and it fulfills you and completes your purpose than you have the right to do that, and you can make it happen. Don't ever let anyone put you down for having a different choice or purpose in life, stand up for what makes you happy and fulfilled. And above all, love yourself. So often we as women, who have a natural tendency to be nurturing and put others in front of our own wants and needs, need to learn that it is okay, and very important to take care of ourselves first in order to be able to help the others we choose to help. Without self love and confidence in ourselves we are only limiting ourselves in what our choices are, and the ability to act on those choices. Take time to really get in touch with who you are, what you want out of life and follow through on it. I'm going to be creating more women empowerment paintings and drawings in the future with motivational posts about success, following your dreams, loving yourself, self care, self acceptance, and many more issues women face on a daily basis. Below are a couple of sketches I've created so far that I will be turning into paintings, so stay tuned!

I am so excited about your collection! You have been an inspiration to me for several years! And I finally did it in 2015! Quit corporate world, moved to the country and now I am with my son more and I'm painting every day. I feel I owe you a huge thanks for your strong example.
